are you sure you have extracted the files from the zip file to a new folder?

in XP.. if you double click on a zip file it just opens it as a folder... but the files are still zipped..

use a program like winzip ... free @ www.winzip.com just 'unzip' the .zip file and inside are all the .shn files ... it is really easy.

if he is able to view the contents of the zip file (assuming its XP) he wouldnt even need winzip.. he should just be able to right click the file and select extract all.. as XP has that built in..

i'm really tired, so i hope my question makes sense. i use an old dinosaur pc but i am setting up a friend's new win-xp pc for d/l and burning music. so are you saying that when i d/l a zipped file on an xp pc, i do not have to use winzip to unzip the files before i convert to wave? can i drag the unzipped file to mkwact and convert to wave? thanks for the help.
